Fun things to do in NYC (whole family)
My BIL missed his college graduation ceremony because he had the flu We rescheduled his party for this Friday, but we want to take him out somewhere on Saturday to cheer him up. It sucks to miss walking and getting your diploma.
It would be BIL and his GF, DH and I, and our ILs. So we need something good for everyone. Some sort of museum, attraction, or activity to do during the day.
Any ideas? I was thinking the circus but I'm not sure he likes the circus.
Thanks!

You could always go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art or maybe the Statue of Liberty & Eliis Island.

Maybe the air show at Jones Beach..
I know that's not NYC but I think a college aged guy would like that

What was his major? Ok, that sounds weird, but it might help give more of a picture of things he would like to do.

I would do one of those double decker bus tours - check out the whole city! Hop on and off and pick something to do at a couple of spots - a great dessert place in little italy, a ride to the top of the empire state building, etc.
The circle line had a speed boat ride called the beast that looks like a lot of fun.

He was a tv/communications major and he wants to be a firefighter, but I think they are putting a freeze on classes for a while.

if he is a tv major, there is the museum of tv and radio...i think its in queens. i dont recall, but my parents took us there when we were kids and its pretty fun.
(its not a kiddie museum, just lots of neat stuff about tv/radio, shows, etc.)
also..is the intrepid sea & air space museum back? I cant recall if the boat was being rehabbed, or if it was complete and reopened.
