Furious. UPS guy. What would you do?
See I don't get why people immediately fly off the handle.
It deeply disturbs me. I think you can say stuff being nice and respectful and get much better results. Had he been cordial, he would have avoided this whole mess he's now going to be in.
Just the other day I was pulling out of a drive thru Dunkin donuts. There was a giant truck waiting to turn onto the road ahead of me. Ahead of me and behind the truck were 2 cars. The car in front of me kept honking and the car in front of him - the driver got out and went over to the car and screamed , "I can't move assshole!! There's a truck in front of me!!"
I could see her being annoyed but couldn't she had said look.. I'm stuck here too. I can't move. Hopefully this truck moves?
Not to mention, I'm sure the honker was honking at the truck, who was making a left and had to cross both ways of oncoming traffic.
People just are scary.
I'm proud to say I never fly off the handle and if someone does it to me, I diffuse the situation. You just never know these days.
Just say sorry .. be kind.. and move on.

Wow i would of flipped...i would completely report him. First for acting like that and second for parking across the spots. He shouldnt do either one of them

my husband works for UPS and he would never speak to someone like that ...
sorry that was done in front of you.
Do you mind me asking where this was?
They will def be speaking with the driver after you made a complaint. They take stuff like this seriously.

It happened in Babylon.
Actually they just called back and she said she addressed it with him and he acknowledged he behaved like this. The woman said he reportedly stated he even decided to come back to look for me to apologize but I had already left. She said he is known to be one of their good drivers and had a "slip of the tongue".

I dont care what his excuse was - I would still keep my distance from this guy when I see him at the office. Too much of a loose cannon.

maybe he was just having a bad day NOT saying that it was ok. I hope he does apologize if he sees you again

Really a slip of the tongue? He's in customer service- if I had a slip of the tongue like that, I'd find myself unemployed.

People are such idiots. The fact that he pulled out in less than a minute SHOULD HAVE made him realize that everything he was yelling about made no sense!

Most likely he didn't try to search for you to apologize. I think that was his defense mechanism when he was called out on it by managers. Maybe he did; maybe he didn't; but that's still my thought.
Lesson learned---- bet he never does it again.

My current UPS driver said that they intentionally damage overweight packages to "teach people a lesson". He struts around like he owns the place and he's merely tolerating us. I wish I was exaggerating.
Ugh this is obnoxious!!
We are one of the lucky ones with a great UPS driver. he delivers to moms, my brothers, and my place. he is so nice and is very careful with our stuff. Recently he had a huge very heavy package for my brother and I guess he knows no one is home during the day. He saw me walking my dog and asked if anyone was home at my brothers. (I think he was hoping to help my brother by brining into the foyer.) I thought it was very nice.

I think the company is really taking this seriously. I had another voicemail yesterday night after I got out of yoga class from someone who sounds like he is pretty high up. I tried calling back but he had left for the day, but the woman who answered seemed to be very aware of the situation.
I also vented on Twitter to some of my followers and UPS responded to that too.
I feel bad if this guy is going to get in trouble, but I hope it will make him think next time or do something about getting his anger in check.
I can be oblivious to stuff sometimes, but I seriously thought he was coming over to say hello to DS and I and then he flew off the handle.

Do not feel bad. There is no excuse, NO EXCUSE to speak that way to another person over a parking spot. Especially a mother with her young child.
I'm irked that someone called it a "slip of the tongue". There should be no tolerance of that kind of behavior with their employees- especially in uniform.

I would DEFINITELY report him. That kind of behavior is not ok. We all have bad days, but for him to becursing and yelling at you like that, especially while in his uniform and 'on the job' is wrong.
