GD ladies I have more questions
If I am trying to keep my blodd sugar low than why do I have to eat before bed?
I tested this am and then tested again in a different finger and got a very different lower number why does this happen?
For those that have had "spikes" what are the numbers?

Re: GD ladies I have more questions
I have had the same thing happen. I tested this morning and my number was 101 in right hand and 90 in left hand...so I went with the left hand number. I'm now even more confused. I ate a snack at 9:00 last night and then had 2 crackers when I went to the bathroom at 3:00am. Are the snacks not working and causing my number to be too high or am I not eating enough of a snack at the right time or am I just destined to be confused and annoyed for the next 7 weeks or until she decides to show.
My morning fasting numbers are ranging from 90 to 97. Remember though, my place wants my fasting below 90 not 95. Only on 2 occasions have I gotten a number below 90.

Re: GD ladies I have more questions
I go to the doc on friday and will have to ask all these questions.
Don't feel bad about the fast numbers mine are usually in the 95-105 range as well.
Today I had an 84
but what I don't get is my numbers after eating are the same as my fast numbers how is that possible?
So confusing. Glad I am not alone!

Re: GD ladies I have more questions
wow - I never heard that before getting different results in different hands at the same time. I would call and ask about that - make no sense to me.
I only spiked once or twice when I had GD last time and the numbers were pretty high both times - but once I ate poorly so there was very good reason.
As for eating before bed, I think it is just to keep up energy and maintain - so you are eating the right amount of calories and such so you don't get hungry or weak - just splitting it to small meals throughout the day so it isn't all at once. Is it only that morning number that is giving up issue? is it all the time? I would think it should have nothing to do with the nighttime snack because your body should have had plenty of time to metabolize and digest that meal. What about changing up teh snack - maybe it is something that you eat that your body is dealing with in a werid way? I think I use to eat peanut butter and wheat crackers or peanut butter and rice cakes.
I am so dreading getting tested this time - I have my dr appointment this week to get my ticket to test in the next week or so....

Re: GD ladies I have more questions
I am having the same problem.... my fasting numbers are between a 95-103 the highest, last night i tried half a sandwich of PB & J and nothing a 101 again... i Can't take this anymore, all my other numbers are fine after eating it is a 110-115, i don't get why it is happening in the AM.... At the Dr. yesterday he is giving me one more week to get it under a 95 or I have to go on insulin...... I really don't know what else to try.....

Re: GD ladies I have more questions
I did go for a walk last night maybe that is why I got the 84 this morning.

That's not too high esp if it is after eating and not morning numbers. I wouldn't be too concerned then. Do they send you to see someone who will review your numbers? I know I had to see someone every 2 weeks in high risk. At first I had no spikes and the dr said he had expected to see some and said that was normal....and ordered me to go spike - joking of course - but did say if I had a few here and there he would not be concerned at all.

Re: GD ladies I have more questions
It was a little chilly but I needed to get out for a bit.
