My nails got totally WRECKED from doing this..
I will NEVER EVER put anything on my nails again.. Anything you put on them will weaken them.. period.
I will stick to natural and just manicures..
ME too! i did the OPI gel and i was so happy and when it came time to soak off and start fresh my nails were destroyed and so sensitive.

Re: Gel Manicure
If they are filing your nails down, its going to damage them. But some gels won't stick otherwise. I'm a huge fan of OPI, but their gel sucks.
my local place does it with CND shelac, the colora are limited, but its the best one imo, my nails are still in good shape I get it done every 3w, and if I didn't do dishes, I could probably go 4w.
This one goes on after they do a light buff to the nails.

I got the shellac the other day, it's supposed to be better than the OPI - so far I like it. Color selection is limiited though...

I heard that it comes off without having to soak. If thats the case I will gladly switch over to it. But I really dont see how it is possible.

I just did the Shelac tonight for the first time (test running it for my FSIL for her wedding in a few weeks). You just have soak each hand for 2-3 minutes and it comes right off.
It took about 25 minutes and was done and dry.
The colors are limited so I did a french.
I was told french is the best and if you want color stick to the reds.
