Re: Gender Preference
thanks for your replies.. i was curious.. i was in a convo with a friend of mine and she was hoping to sway the gender for her 2nd baby..
but to answer my own question.. I already have a healthy 3&1/2 yr old DS and i am currently TTC and yes i would love one of each.. but i would be just as happy with another boy. I dont think i would go so far to start trying "methods" to sway the gender. esp. after having a MC in sept. all I want is another baby to add to my family!
but then again- there is nothing wrong with trying the shettles method or any other method out there.. we are all entitled to want what we want!

Re: Gender Preference
We didn't use any special methods. However, if I was given the choice - I would want a girl for this time around. That is only because I have 5 nephews and there are no little girls in the family...so I think everyone is kind of hoping for a girl. Of course, it goes without saying we just want a healthy baby and a boy would be loved just as much.

Re: Gender Preference
I ALWAYS wanted a little girl but if I were to be able to pick, I would've wanted a little boy first and then a little girl.
Turns out, we're getting our little girl NOW and I'm beyond thrilled.

Re: Gender Preference
I didn't try for a girl or boy with my first, but I did track my ovulation and I know that I BD'd before, during, and after my ovulation day. According to the Shettles Method, that would sway me towards having a boy, and in fact I did have a son (I was team green though so we didn't know until he was born).
This time I did the same thing and I know that we BD'd only 1 day in my fertile cycle and it was 2 days before O. I thought I was out that month because we didn't BD except for that one day. I should hopefully be finding out the sex in the next couple of weeks. According to Shettles, 2 days before O sways you more towards a boy, BUT it's acceptable for trying for a girl too, so who knows!

Re: Gender Preference
Of course I wanted a happy and healthy baby but deep inside we both wanted a little girl. We are having a and are super excited, of course we would have been just as excited about a boy
To answer your question we started BDing all a week in advance up until a day after ovulation. I believe the day before ovulation did the trick.
