George Anthony, grandfather of Caylee Anthony, wanted to commit suicide
I can not beleive I heard this when I woke up this morning. I feel for this poor man for what his wife Cindy and daughter Casey are putting him through. I hope he denies visit to be by himslef. He needs it. He was very close to Caylee and I tihnk the latest documents to come out put him over the edge. (It was reported Wednesday that a heart sticker was intentionally put over the duct tape in the mouth area. )
Please say prayer for him as for he needs them in this time of need.
Police: George Anthony hinted at suicide and wanted to die.

there is no proof he knew, it's not fair to crucify a person based upon opinion. Just because his daughter did something awful doesn't make him guilty of knowing.

I'm not crucifying him I believe both parents knew she was guilty. I don't necessarily think he helped or anything, but I don't believe for a minute they didn't think she didn't kill her.

Re: George Anthony, grandfather of Caylee Anthony, wanted to commit suicide
This story gets more and more sickening. A heart sticker on the duct tape over her mouth????...she is disgusting. I'm sure the father knows that his daughter is guilty.

Re: George Anthony, grandfather of Caylee Anthony, wanted to commit suicide
I agree, he lived in the house with them, I dont see how he could have been completley blind to what was going on, or even been able to ignore his gut on it....especially since i believe he had extensive police officer training and experience. (however that is what I recall reading/hearing at some point anyway and don't know for sure that it is fact.)

Sure they know she is guilty, which I know would drive me over the edge..knowing deep down that my own flesh and blood MURDERED my grandaughter. But knowing she is guilty and knowing what happened are different. I took your post to say he knew all along, which I don't believe is the case at all.

I agree with you Lisa.
I honestly believe he didn't think she was involved.
This is so sad.
He looks awful in that photo.

Re: George Anthony, grandfather of Caylee Anthony, wanted to commit suicide
Incredibly sad in my opinion. This poor man in the past few months had his granddaughter kidnapped, a daughter accused of doing it, his granddaughters body found with disturbing stuff on it, had to testify against his daughter about what he knew (which he did) and led to her being arrested for the murder and the stress of wanting to believe what happened and what he probably deep down knows happened.
And in the end if he didn't really know what happened, he did nothing to bring this on himself.
I would have probably lost my mind a long time before he did.

Re: George Anthony, grandfather of Caylee Anthony, wanted to commit suicide
I just started watching Nancy Grace, who has devoted her show to this case since the disappearance of Caylee. It seems that George was close with both Caylee and Casey. Casey was much closer with her dad than mom, so this must be totally devastating to him. I feel really sad for him. I am sure he knows Casey did it, but what parent wants to believe that his/her child is a cold blooded murderer.

Yeah that is how I felt, obv he knows but I don't believe he knew all along. I feel for her parents because they are devastated, she clearly isn't which is horrible but they truly look heartbroken.

Honestly, itmakes me that this is "news". He is no one of any import newswise, and the story just plays to the worst part of people that eat up others' tragedies. So tabloid. He shoud be left alone by the press and helped.

Not what I meant at all. I shouldn't have used the --> I meant that just because this poor child was murdered.
ETA: I do think they both suspected she killed her before they found her body.

Totally dont know if this is true or not... I was in Florida and I "assume" that down south they may know other info or gossip we havent heard about or maybe I just didnt hear this part while in NY. I heard that the daughter Casey would go to random sex parties and use cloroform (Sp) on her dd so she could party and then when everything was over she would wake up and they would be on their way. Did I miss this part of the story?

I think either or would make a grandfather want to kill himself. I mean re: of if he knew or didnt know...its horrible to be in his position right now.
Just wanted to add.. the one part I REALLY have a problem with the grandparents about is SHE LIVED THERE. Casey and Caylee lived there. SERIOUSLY, how does everyone not see that she is missing. Something is VERY off.

Casey packed them up and said she was staying with a friend. That's how her parents didn't know she was missing. Casey wasn't staying there.

Casey would disappear for a week at a time staying at other people house. She could not stand living with her parents and then finally "moved out" in June to her last BF apt. She always said to family and friends that Caylee was with the nanny in which everyone beleived her so it didn't go through thier minds that Caylee was missing mid June to mid July. Everyone ended up finding out she lied July 15th when Casey said Caylee has been missing for a month the nanny took her and now we know there is no nanny.
ETA: Casey was very jealous of Cindy (her mom) with the relationship Cindy had with Caylee and also Casey was tired of watching Caylee becuase the parents had to work all the time so she was stuck with her hence why this all happened.

Unfortunately this isn't new information. That's why people are speculating that she overdosed her on the cholor. and killed her.

We still don't know if this is true about the sex parties but she was a shot girl a few times at local clubs and would go to local club to party. It was said by police that Caylee might have been cholorformed or given medicine to sedate her to sleep then put in the trunk. So this was her babysitter for the night. She was seen partying at the end of June when Caylee was presumed dead a week before. She is really cold hearted and I hope she fries.

Re: George Anthony, grandfather of Caylee Anthony, wanted to commit suicide
After a while, it becomes hard to sort out what it true or not (the fact that she used to sedate her daughter to go to parties vs she did it one time).
The whole thing is tragic. A mom feels the need to sedate her daughter to go partying. It shows imaturity, emotional detachment, resentment. Then she put a heart sicker on her mouth. This is very disturbing on many levels.
Then the grandparents are in denial. How can you think your own child killed their little girl? The daughter had to lie to them to save face. How do you tell your parents that you killed your kid to go partying (even if it was an accident!)?
You are NEVER ready as a parent to hear such devastating news. I am sure her parents hoped all along it COULD NOT be true. Even if they has doubts.
I cannot imagine the sorrow, dispear, anger, loss of hope they must feel.
