THE NORTHWEST WILL KEEP THE LOW LEVELS BELOW FREEZING...PROVIDING
FOR A MAINLY SNOW EVENT...WITH SOME SLEET MIXED IN SUNDAY NIGHT

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY
AFTERNOON.
SNOW...POSSIBLY MIXED WITH SLEET AT TIMES OVER EASTERN CONNECTICUT
AND LONG ISLAND WILL DEVELOP SUNDAY EVENING. THE PRECIPITATION WILL
CHANGE TO ALL SNOW MONDAY MORNING...AND BE HEAVY AT TIMES...BEFORE
TAPERING OFF LATE MONDAY. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR AT LEAST 8 INCHES OF SNOW ACROSS THE TRI-STATE BY THE TIME THE SNOW COMES TO
AN END.
THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT
TIMING...STRENGTH...AND TRACK OF THIS LOW...SO EXPECT THE FORECAST
TO CHANGE SOMEWHAT AS DETAILS BECOME CLEARER AS THE STORM DRAWS
CLOSE.
A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT
SNOW...SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL.

Yes. And be prepared for long lines. I was at the supermarket at 9:30 this morning and it was ridiculous! I wasn't even thinking about the weather....just needed to get my shopping done for the week. I thought I'd be in the clear but no such luck. It was like Y2K all over again.

It's going to be a nothing storm, Who wants to bet???? I predict a dusting on the ground... Eveytime they predict a "big" snow storm it ends up being nothing.. Should i go out and buy food for a month???

Well, since we live in a metropolitan area....you probably only need to stock up for three weeks.
I heard 4-6 inches for monday. tonight & tomorrow is supposed to be a mix of rain, sleet & snow...ie annoying, cold mess.

I went shopping today and didn't even think about that there would be crowds. It wasn't too bad and I was rushing around because I had to pick up my dd so I am sure the others thought I was one of those crazy people running out to get food (and it looked like I was stocking up but it was just my normal once a week shopping-lol!!).

Why could I have been on the cruise I just came off of last week, this week- the Bahamas and Florida were like a beautiful spring day in the 70's, no humidity.....I had a frozen starwberry daquiri.... ahhh... vacation.....

LOL - I know! DC is supposed to get 4 inches... which means, of course, that we won't be able to get to the store for 2 weeks
