Getting new glasses/contacts during pregnancy
I am desperately in need of a new pair of glasses, contacts and a new prescription, but I've read some things that say your eyesight can change during pregnancy. Should I hold off until after the baby is born? I can still see with my old glasses and contacts, but they are not as sharp as i would like them to be. I'm only 10 weeks, so i have a long way to go. Thanks!

Re: Getting new glasses/contacts during pregnancy
I thought about this as well. I have noticed over the course of this pregnancy that my contacts don't seem to be as comfortable.
I don't know if your vision changes much though. I guess you can ask your doctor.

Re: Getting new glasses/contacts during pregnancy
i dont wear glasses or contacts but havent had an eye exam in a long time.
i thought it would be good to get all checked out before the babies came. I went for an eye exam. my vision was still good but the dr said your vision can worsen durign pregnancy and they usually dont reccomened changing anythign prescription wise durign this time. that said you dont want to be uncomfortable for the next several months, so i would defianlty talk to your dr before making any decisions.
GL!

Re: Getting new glasses/contacts during pregnancy
I am in this situation, but with a twist
I have to update my vision thing for my drives license. If I am going to pay to get my eyes checked, I am surely going to make the best of it an update my glasses too

Re: Getting new glasses/contacts during pregnancy
I just went to the eye dr a few weeks ago for my 1 yr exam...luckily my vision didn't change, but he said sometimes during pregnancy you become more nearsighted...so there is a chance.

Oof, if I become more nearsighted I'm definitely going to be needing new glasses sooner rather than later. I have the worst eyes to begin with. Maybe I should go soon before they get worse later in pregnancy.

Re: Getting new glasses/contacts during pregnancy
I saw my eye dr two weeks ago and got new contacts and glasses. They just skipped the glaucoma test. My eyes hadn't changed much since my last appt (actually less change than they had in between the previous two appts).

Re: Getting new glasses/contacts during pregnancy
My vision changed quite a bit. I got only 6 mos worth of contacts for during PG & then got checked again after DS was born. My prescription did change again after DS was born.

Your vision can change while PG.
My contact also did not fit while PG. They would not fit anymore for some reason.

Re: Getting new glasses/contacts during pregnancy
My vision changed during my yearly appt...which was when I was about 14 weeks. My Dr wouldn't change my prescription because she just felt it was because of my pregnancy. My change was not very much...that's probably why she didn't change it. I would get an exam and see what the Dr recommends
