For those who wear glasses/contacts
Do plan on wearing your contacts or glasses during labor and delivery?
I'm not sure what I want to do. I think I would be more comfortable in my glasses just in case my contacts get blurry or dried out but I hate how I look and feel in my glasses.

Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
I hadn't really thought about this, but I guess I'd prefer to wear my contacts, since I don't really like to wear my glasses either....

Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
WEAR GLASSES!!!! I also wear both, and brought both to the hospital, but while you are in labor and pushing, you squeeze your eyes shut so tight, contacts would NOT be comfortable.

That is exactly what I am worried about.

Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
I either wear contacts or glasses. During DD birth and for this one I am not wearing them at all. I didn't want to worry about them when I pushed.

Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
I too have been tossing around what to do. I don't mind how I look wearing glasses, but they can get uncomfortable on my nose if I wear them too long.
Does the hospital have any restrictions?!?!

Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
I was told I could not wear my contacts during my c/s. I just wore my glasses and had my DH bring my contacts in case I wanted to wear them during my 4 day stay.
For my v-birth, I also just wore my glasses. It was just easier and I am not even sure if they would have let me in the case I had to have a c/s.
I would ask your doctor what the procedure is where you will deliver.

Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
You can not wear contacts because there is always a possiblity that you might need a c-section & there may not be time to take them out.

Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
I just recently went to the eye doctor for my annual exam and prescription and he told me to make sure not to wear them - or if by chance I did have them in to take them out and throw them out if I had to (disposable so easier to say).

This all makes sense - so I guess it will be my glasses, but I think I'll bring the contacts for the stay afterwards...

So I guess for the pics after, I will just put in my contacts or be a little blind! But seriously, thanks girls for the info.

They didn't make me take them out.
ETA: Could be b/c I had a c/s. But I was in labor/induction for long time.

Me too, but then again, I had a c/s. No one ever told me contacts couldn't be worn. In fact, no one ever asked if I wore contacts. I think I mostly wore glasses during the hospital stay.
I did treat myself to a new pair of glasses for the pictures though...oh, the vanity!

Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
I wear both and I am so glad that I wore my glasses to the hospital when I went into labor.... If you have to have a c section your not supposed to wear contacts, so play it safe and wear glasses

Re: For those who wear glasses/contacts
I did not wear them during delivery. I took them off after awhile even before I started pushing.
