Gift for daycare workers -- where can I get this?
Next week will be Marron's last week in daycare and I'd like to get something for her teachers. I wanted to get one of those signs, mugs or something similar that has that saying that is something like "20 years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove...but I was important in the life of a child"
Does anybody know where I can get something like this by next week?

can i be honest? as a teacher (or daycare worker) we get about 5-6 (or more) mugs a year. it's impossible to use them all so we wind up giving most away 
why don't you get her a nice card and write that saying in it? and you could get her personalized stationary with her name on it (and maybe with a cute saying--super cheap on vistaprint) that she could use to send notes home. or if she doesn't send notes, get her a dunkin donuts or starbucks gift certificate ($5- $10 is fine).
i think your idea is wonderful...it's nice to be thought of as making a difference, but if she's anything like me, she could open her own mug shop by now

How about a gift certificate for housecleaning service. im sure after a hard day of taking care of children there tired and dont want to clean.. this way someone else does it for them.

I agree, i have a million mugs and give them away....starbucks gift card, even 5 or 10 bucks is fine

I totally understand the mug thing, that wasn't really my first choice. It was more the saying that I'm looking for. I know I've seen nice framed "pictures" with the saying about having been important in the life of a child. That's really what I'm trying to find. Would a framed picture, or something for them to hang on the wall be another overly duplicated gift?

I say give her the gift card and maybe write what you want to say in the card or what if you type it on pretty paper and put that in a frame with a small gift card?

I have to be honest as a teacher, every year I get these little knick nacks and every year I usually put them in next year's prize box for my kids or donate them.
I don;t have enough room to keep them all ( mugs, figurines, message pillows etc)
I would much rather have a gift card with the message included- not that I ever expect a gift from any students however it is nice to be thought of
