Gift for daycare workers

After some long thought, I am going to be a sahm. ( ) This is going to be the last month of DS daycare. He is 5 months old. I would like to get something nice for the two women who are in his daycare room. Any suggestions?? I'm not sure how much to spend either?

He was going to daycare 2 days a week (it cost approx $900 a month at the center though, not sure if this matters)
I really appreciated and liked his daycare - it just turned out that being a working mom is not for me, and my husband and I think we can afford it. I would absolutely recommend this daycare to anyone and want to show my appreciation for taking such good care of DS over these few months.

2) I would give them a gift certificate, like a $50 Amex or something. I'm assuming he wasn't there too long if he is only 5 months right?

I'm in the same boat you're in -- except I've already left daycare once before when I pulled DS for my maternity leave for DS#2.
At that time, I had older DS buy a gift for the room instead of buying a gift for the teachers. Specifically, my DS LOVED busses at that time, so we bought the classroom a book about a School Bus and a school bus MegaBlocks set. The teachers told me that everytime the class read that book or played with that toy, at least one child said, "that's Jack's favorite book" or "Jack gave us that bus because he LOVED the bus". The teachers said they appreciated it because it made them think of Jack.

Now I'm pulling both boys to become a SAHM and I'm thinking of giving the teachers TY gifts...will probably do AmEx gift cards or Amazon gift cards. HTH.
