gift question and loss of family member
My uncle passed away and October 31st will be one year
We wanna do something special for my aunt, we want her to know that we will always remember him and love him dearly. I don’t know if dinner in his honor would be enough. But I don’t know what to do for her or what to get her. Any suggestions?

Re: gift question and loss of family member
This may or not be a possibility depending on if the Funeral Home did a fingerprint or not. They aren't always able to.
We had the funeral home take a fingerprint of my Dad, which they have provided to us. We are going to order my daughter a "Thumbies" necklace...basically a sterling silver or gold charm in a circle or heart shape, with a cast of my dad's fingerprint on it, and it can be engraved on the back.
My DD is 6 and we don't want her "Pop" to ever be forgotten...so we thought this would be a good way for him to always be close to her heart. Maybe something like that, or another piece of jewlery...a locket with his name engraved on it, or something along those lines.

Re: gift question and loss of family member
We had a memorial service at Church for my uncle and we all went back to my aunt where we ordered food and remembered.
Her son gave her a heart necklace with an etched picture of my uncle on it. She wears it everyday and keep sit close to her heart.
Spending the day with her is all she needs!

My Aunts and Uncles sent us a tree to plant in honor of my dad for his birthday.
I believe you can order them from 1800Flowers.
I thought it was a really special gift.
