Re: Girls that delivered in Suffolk Hospitals
Southside.
I loved my experiences. Private room was great with both boys. Loved the option of having the baby with me during visiting hours. Loved the staff.
Only con for me was that the surrounding area wasn't so nice and the parking was atrocious for my visitors. But I think that's kind of a challenge with most hospitals.

st charles:
a con and a pro: they are very strict with the visiting hours 2-4 grandparents and 7-8 ( 7-8- is baby in nursery) it was a con becuase no-one got to see the baby if they werent a grandparent but it was a pro becuase there wanst a million people all over the baby.
con: dh couldnt stay with me overnight because I had to share a room-- a private is like 150 extra and I couldnt see spending that its like more than the mariott
pro: the nurses are wonderful and the location is beautiful, I was looking out the window at the long island sound the whole time I was in labor it was really nice!
you said it perfectly!

St. Catherine's
Cons- No private rooms 2-3 women to a room.
there is a private room, one. I know because I had it.
St. Catherine's had great nurses
Can't think of any cons. Ok well the food was terrible. LOL
I was just going to quote this as well..
My DH was kind of ****** that I was stuck in the room in the corner with 2 other women (my room had its own shower) but still we weren't alone.
When I was being discharged it looked like their were a lot of private rooms, or empty ones.... Which made us think why were they still sending women to my room (one bed was filled I think twice in my 3 day stay there)

Yup, i actually did see this and i would have been upset by it. I saw rooms that had i think 4 women in it and 2 rooms with NONE!
I was just lucky to have my own. It is the way to go!

I totally agree!! I had my daughter at St. Charles. The nurses were wonderful!!!!! Another con is the shower is very small!
Agree with both of you. I loved it there. Great view.
