Girls who had the lap surgery….
Either for endo or tube blockages…a few questions:
-Did your period come on time? -Were you allowed to TTC the next month? -How was recovery? -How many days did you take off work? -Did you go on antibiotic afterwards (to prevent infection)? -Did you have pain from the gas?
Ok I think that is it…thanks in advance!

Re: Girls who had the lap surgery….
I recently had it done so I cant answer the first two, but would love to know the answers too. For me, I felt like it was a slow recovery. I really did not feel better until 4 days after the surgery. The day of and the day after the surgery I really couldn't move around. I did have a lot of gas pain, mainly in my shoulders. I was also really swollen, my stomach went down a week and a half after the surgery. I also bled for a week and a half. I see the dr. On Friday to remove the stitches so I am hoping to get the answer to the first two questions. Fm me if you need me.

Re: Girls who had the lap surgery….
Did your period come on time?
YES
-Were you allowed to TTC the next month? YES
-How was recovery? Needed to be relaxing the day of surgery and the day after. The third day I was feeling much better
-How many days did you take off work? 2 days - Thursday and Friday. I went back to work on Monday
-Did you go on antibiotic afterwards (to prevent infection)? I did. They made me nauseous.
-Did you have pain from the gas? The gas pain was the worst part. Everytime I would sit up or stand up it would return to my shoulders. I bought a good heating pad at CVS and that helped me immensely. I would put it on my shoulders when i had to sit up.
By day 3 the pain was almost gone but still then it settled in my belly so i felt very bloated for 1-2 days. I felt most like myself by Tuesday, the day after I returned to work.
In case you were curious about the scars.. I have 2 "dots" on my low bikini area - they look like 2 bumps from shaving - and a little line inside of my belly button that no one would ever notice.

Re: Girls who had the lap surgery….
I had it for endo last August.
-Did your period come on time? Yes, I believe so.
-Were you allowed to TTC the next month? Yes.
-How was recovery? Honestly, pretty horrible. I was nauseous from the anesthesia and felt like I needed more time in recovery before going home. Once I was home, I was in SO MUCH PAIN from the gas (shoulder pain). I couldn't get comfortable in any position (sitting, standing, laying down). The good news, is that in 2-3 days time, I was better. -How many days did you take off work? I was off from work at the time, but I believe I would have needed about 3-4 days.
-Did you go on antibiotic afterwards (to prevent infection)? I don't remember!
-Did you have pain from the gas? YES!!!
Good luck!

Re: Girls who had the lap surgery….
I had it done for Unexplained IF to see if I did have endo. And......I ended up having a mild case of it.
I had a Laporosocopy, D&C & Hysteroscopy.......they did the works on me.......and it all took about 45 minutes.
-Did your period come on time? Yes it did
-Were you allowed to TTC the next month? I had to wait one period......then the following month I was allowed.
-How was recovery? EXCELLENT! I prepared myself for the worst and I was wrong!
-How many days did you take off work? Was done on a Thursday morning; was back at work on Monday.
-Did you go on antibiotic afterwards (to prevent infection)? Yes I was.
-Did you have pain from the gas? The gas pain in my shoulder was so minimal and it was only in my right shoulder. I got home from the hospital around 1pm......and the gas pains subsided that evening. I came home and laid on the couch all day long. Whenever I felt the pain in my shoulder come on, I would put the heating pad on it. The heating pad did wonders for it!! Before I knew it; it totally subsided.
The only weird thing I had was when I came home; my right leg was VERY weak. So every time I came down my steps, I fell. I didnt think nothing of it; until it kept happening. It was like that for about a week........my DR said b/c my legs were in the stirrups for almost an hour; it was probably a pinched nerve.

-Did your period come on time? It would have!
-Were you allowed to TTC the next month? We TTC 2 weeks after my Lap (next O) Got PG then!
-How was recovery? Went out to dinner that same night. Shouldn't have but did. In-laws were in town. Just a bit sore but more than manageable.
-How many days did you take off work? Didn't take any days off from work except the day of the surgery. Had it done on a Friday, back to work on Monday.
-Did you go on antibiotic afterwards (to prevent infection)? No antibiotics but had some pain meds.
-Did you have pain from the gas? Nope, not at all. A lot of people do have it, but I didn't.

Re: Girls who had the lap surgery….
- Yes. After I stopped spotting/bleeding from the lap, it came about 28 days later. A first for me, I have always been very irreguular.
- Yes. I was actually recommended to, to avoid too much time to pass by and run the risk of another cyst forming.
- After about 4 days, I was able to walk around comfotably. I had to take it slow but it was much better. Bleeding stopped the next morning, and spotting subsided about 3 days later.
- I took day of lap and another 2 days. Luckily both times I had the lap done on a Wed, so I still had the weekend to recuperate.
- Yes, not sure why I thought I wasn't.
- Yes, the pain from the gas was the worst part about it. The second time I took a laxative the day before, and the gas was a lot less.
Good luck!
