I think it might be closed but there was one in Northport that was very good. The waitresses all dressed in German outfits. I feel like the last time I drove past it was closed though.

Oak Chalet in Bellmore and Pumpernickel's in Northport are two that we like. Pumpernickel's is the one where the waitresses dress up in the real German outfits.
Our favorite used to be Georgia's in Lindenhurst but it closed...I miss it!
I hear that Zum Stammtisch in Queens is amazing - we are dying to try it.

i LOVE the black forest brew haus in farmingdale (might be melville) - they don't dress up but the food is authentic and the beers are outstanding.

Pumpernickles is the German restaurant in Northport and as of this morning when I drove by it several times it was still open for business. You are thinking of the Cow Harbor Inn across the street from Pumpernickles which is closed and has been for quite some time.
