Good Sugar Cookie Icing Recipe
So, I threw my son a cookie party for his bday (at his request), and looked for awhile to find a recipe for icing that hardens, but doesn't harden too quickly. Finally came across this one, which was PERFECT, and wanted to share it:
2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Mix throughly and add food coloring if desired.

I used this last night for my pumpkin cookies and was wondering it it would make a nice icing for sugar cookies.
How well did it harden up? Could you stack the cookies and not ruin it?

It hardened well, not as quickly as royal icing though so you do need to let the cookies sit a little. It was also very dry out the day that we used it which might make a difference.
I loved that there were no egg whites, corn syrup, or merengue powder (which I couldn't find in time).

Sorry I didn't see this earlier but yet it worked very well. I added a bit of the milk, mixed and then add till it was the right consistency for me
