It is so inconceivable that this is happening to your BF at such a young age and that's what makes it even harder.
My mother had lukemia and it its the kind of thing that hits the person and friends/family so hard.
Both of you are in my prayers.

So sorry you are going through this. It is difficult to standby and watch and know there is really nothing you can do to change it.
But what you can do is be there for her because ultimately that's what your BFF needs! She needs your love, support, and friendship.
My prayers go out to your BFF.

Jess Let you give you some encouragement, I had a ex-boyfriend when i was in high school and he had lukekemia and he went into remission and to this day he is still alive and married with a child, also Dh's cousin who is 5 almost 6 year's old has leukemia and right now she is doing good, so I think there will be a miracle.'Praying' and I pray she will live to 80 even 95 years old.

I know how you feel. I just found out on of my dearest friends has cervical cancer. The first surgery she had was unsuccessful and now she is seing an oncologist. If the next surgery is unsuccessful she will need a hysterectomy. And she just quit her job as an attorney in a big firm because she didn't want to keep those hours when she had kids

NEVER ever give up hope.
My father had stage 4 throat cancer and beat it. He is cancer free to this day. The doctors couldn't believe it.
Anything is possible.

Now (more then ever) is time to cherish the friendship you two have. 15 years can turn into 50. It't not impossible to beat the odds.

Cancer does suck! I have a good friend going through it and it is so hard. I can't picture my life without her. I am so sorry for you and your friend, it so unfair.

CANCER SUCKS! No other way to put it, it just stucks.
Jess- I know it's hard but be strong for your friend. She obviously has a sense of huomr and or reality about it so try and take the same approach (I am like this and always talk about Joseph's next mommy, my DH does not like this approach) with her.
Is she going to start treatment? If so, get her games, bubbles, coloring books, magazines. nailpolish, music, cards etc for her to play both while receiving treatment (or waiting for the actual treatment as sometimes that takes an hour plus). Rally some other friends, have people help with a "meals on wheels" type of thing where each week one person sends food to the house so she doesn't have to cook.
Rally another friend to do her food shoppiing for her for a few weeks.
Bottom line, it sucks and I am sorry you are both going thru this.
