Got my test results back - with 2 questions.

So the Dr. called me yesterday with the results of my CD 3 bloodwork and DH's SA.

Me :
Hormone levels look great. No trace of any thyroid issues.
I did test very faintly positive for something called Lupus Anticoagulant. Apparently it is a blood clotting disorder that is internal and can sometimes cause a placenta to detach early and result in a miscarriage Chat Icon (among other things non fertility related) . That being said, he did stress to me that it was a very faint positive, but he would still like for me to see a rheumatologist for a more proper diagnosis. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm trying so hard not to over react but now I'm concerned that if I do get pregnant, it will end up being a m/c.Chat Icon

DH:
DH's semen analysis came back great.Chat Icon All his levels (motility, volume, etc) were very high. My Dr. called him "superman", so naturally DH is now strutting his stuff around the house like who he thinks he is Chat Icon .
However, they did find a very small amount of white blood cells and leucocytes in his semen, which shouldnt be. Although I was told that it is not interfering with the sperms motility due to how small an amount it is, he still needs to see a urologist for his own personal health, because it could mean he has an inflammation or infection of the prostate. Any insight?

So that's that for now. Getting some answers, although I'm not sure if they are related to our TTC journey. Either way, my HSG went well, no blockages so as of last night "operation baby dance" has commenced Chat Icon

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Chat Icon

I'm so happy to hear that the results generally came back great!

I've never heard of your condition but my DH had a slightly elevated white blood cell count the first time he had his SA done too. It could be a number of things. The MD told us that it could have just been a little infection/cold that he didn't even know that he had. When he went back for the 2nd SA a few months later the white blood cell count was back to normal without having to do anything specifically for that. I agree with your MD though and would f/u with other MDs just to be safe though!

I haven't heard of either of those conditions but my advice would be NOT TO GOOGLE ANYTHING. It's what I always do, and I'm always convinced I have brain tumors and typhoid and stuff. Don't do it!

Secondly, that's great news about your fertility test results!!! Since there's no reason for it not to happen, it can officially happen any time now! Any month can be your month! Good luck and have fun out there. Chat Icon

Re: Got my test results back - with 2 questions.

I know 2 people who had that-

They both had miscarriages (one had 2, the other had 3) before finally getting pregnant......

They each sought treatment from their doctors....but after they were treated

They both had beautiful healthy babies, and one of them just had her 2nd!!

So even though it may be scary, you are absolutely able to have a healthy beautiful baby.

It's great that you went to the doctor-like I said, everything turned around for them once the doctor diagnosed and treated for it. The treatment helped them tremendously.

Do you know what their treatment was and how severe their condition was?
I am only showing a faint positive so my Dr. isn't too concerned. I am going this Tuesday to see a specialist. I'm just worried because I am currently in my fertile period and should O in the next day or so. I am afraid that any treatment the Dr. might suggest (if it is even necessary), will be too late if I conceive this month.
I don't want to sound insensitive to anyone on here who has experienced a m/c, but I honestly think I would rather a BFN than to get a BFP and have it taken away. I just don't know how I would even deal with that. Chat Icon

As per my hematologist a positive is a positive... The RE's office even suggested repeating the test again a month later and the hematologist disagreed.. he actually said i can retest and it may come back negative but that doesnt mean its a true negative - means its just not showing up at the time of the bloodtest (i guess the clotting factor is not active at the time of the blood test).

HTH!!!

Thank you! I am going to tell the Dr. on Tuesday that there is a possibility I have conceived and I'm just hoping and praying that if I did he can give me something that will start taking effect right away.

I appreciate all of your help Chat Icon

I don't know how severe they had it or whatthe treatment was-I actually was just told the other day that that's what they had..which is a weird coincidence that you posted this the day after I found out. They're 2 women I used to work with, I remember 2-3 years ago them both having difficulty...but the person who told me thats what they had said once they were treated they had perfect pregnancies. Sorry I don't have more info...but they are both success stories!!

If your doctor isn't too concerned, you shouldn't be either Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
