Grocery Tote Bags
How many people stopped using the free plastic bags at the grocery store and bought tote bags?

I do have some tote bags for when I just have a few items, but I have to admit I still use the free plastic bags...for two reasons. One is I have 6 cats and I dispose of the kitty litter in them, and the other is for my DS diapers. I know I shouldn't but I do.

I've been using reusable bags for a few years now. They're awesome and WAY easier to carry than plastic bags. I try to bring them everywhere, not just to the grocery store.

I have them from Stop and Shop. I use them mall the time. I need to get one to use when I go to other stores like Target.

I do both as well--- I constantly use plastic bags (as well as paper) when people buy things (I work out of my house and get orders). I think it's silly to buy plastic bags and have even more of them floating around- so I save the bags when I do get them and use them for that purpose.
I do have some cloth tote bags and try to use them as often as possible.

I use totes that I keep in my truck at all times. Today when I was food shopping, I forgot to bring them in the store but I walked back out to the car to get them before I went to the checkout. I got a 6cent credit for using them at Waldbaums

I have a collection from all over. I get a lot from teaching conferences and buying teaching things etc. i have a few from trader joes too. I also keep a few plastic bags with them too - for things like eggs - so I can separate them and not crush them.

same here. I forget them in the car a lot and drives me mad, but I use them a lot and I orefer them as they hold more and are easier to carry stuff in the house in.

I always use them. The only thing I use the plastic bags for is to pack meat in.

I keep them in my car and use them all the time!
I have even found myself not taking bags when i go to other stores as not to add more to the landfills!!

We have ours from S & S too.
I think they were 99 cents a bag... they hold a lot!!
We have four in each car. They fold down and take up virtually no room.
We keep them in the car and if I'm running into Target or another store I take them with me and use them.
ETA: Trader Joe's has an insulated bag for refrigerated items. My MIL has one. She brings it to Costco and uses it to transport food if she's visiting someone.

I just bought my first one from Trader Joe's the other day in an attempt to gradually start becoming greener. I reuse the grocery bags for garbage, so I like having them sometimes, but there's no need for me to have as many as I do.
