9-26.

i *think* you can still get it after that, but most insurances only cover it up to 26.

Re: Guardasil- HPV Vaccine

I read they are running trials on older women, now.

If they recommend it for older women also, and if my gyno recommends it for me, I think I would get it.

I haven't gotten it yet, because I was PG, but I think that I am also over the age limit.

Re: Guardasil- HPV Vaccine

I've been thinking about it. What is the deal with it though?

Can anyone get HPV at any time, or is it only an STD from multiple partners?

As in, if MY FH hasn't already given it to me and I'm planning to sleep with anyone else..do I need it?

Someone on another thread was saying HPV doesn't actually cause cervical cancer.

There's so much buzz and not enough information

No. Its not covered by my insurance- and I have good insurance. That tells me that its just not safe enough yet.

I thought it was sexually transmitted also, so I dont see why I would need it if I dont already have it either.

I respectfully disagree. Your insurance company made a financial decision about whether to cover it. They may just be saving themselves a ton of money doing that. Once other pharma cos start making it after the patent expires it will be covered far a wide and the price will drop significantly.

True- but they cover every other vaccine or medicine I ever needed. So that, combined with the fact that it is still a new vaccine, makes me want to wait for more medical research . I don't see any urgency in the matter.
