gutter cleaning no show vent
I have used the same gutter cleaning service for the past 3 years, usually with good results.
We had an appt with them to come Friday 12/3 to clean our gutters (we were planning on putting up our xmas lights that weekend) They never showed up, so i called Saturday 12/4 to find out what happened and they told me that one of their crews never showed up so they were behind in work. They were trying to catch up on the work that weekend and would come by on Sunday. Sunday afternoon they called and said that they couldn't come by but they'd get to us during the week.
So, that whole week goes by and no one shows up. I called on Saturday 12/11 to find out what was going on and apparently got the owner who was really rude on the phone. He kept saying that it was too cold to clean gutters because the water would freeze and that when it got warmer this week, they'd get to it. So i asked what they were going to do since its supposed to be colder this week... Without even knowing my name or address, he just said "oh you're on the list, we'll definitely get to you next week". I said how can you even say that, you have no idea who i am or where i'm calling from?? He then huffed and said he'd take my name and it would be done Sunday. So of course Sunday comes and goes, no one shows up.
Monday morning (yesterday) I called our landscaper and asked them if they could do it - unfortunately they had just done their fall clean up last week and if i had known about it i would've had them do it then.. but they were very gracious and said they'd get to it this week sometime. I came home last night and the gutters were totally clean and a note in the mailbox from the landscapers saying Merry Christmas, we got to your gutters
So i called the original place back this morning to tell them to take us off their list - and the woman couldn't find me on her list, despite having talked to her at least 3 times, as well as the owner. When she started to say 'oh we'll get to you this week' I said no, i'm calling to tell you don't bother, i found someone else to do it, and she said fine and hung up on me!!
Seriously.. in this friggin economy.. a company that probably only operates 6 months out of the year.. why on earth would they want to treat a customer so badly?? All i wanted to do was pay them to do their job, and they consistently f'd up.
So.. they'll never get my business again.
