You story touches me each and every time I read it. I can relate to each and every word.
I know there are many of us on the boards with parents/siblings of mental illness, and anyone whose been through it/going through it appreciates you sharing your story!

so sorry for what you are going through i cant imagaine.
my family has a history of being bi-polar too my grandmother started to show signs of it after she started having children it was hard on all of them she would go off the handle at a moments notice. and she did have shock threrapy too but that was a long long time ago. she was never normal. i never had a relationship with her. but i do know others in my family and a few friends of mine who are bipolar and now with drug treatment and therapy they are working through it.

i am so sorry about ur father-but ?-did they say shock treatment was the only way?
my great aunt was depressed and they gave it to her-n it didnt turn out too good-is there any other form of treatment?
