Had my first visit with RE (need advice!)

Hi ladies,

I took a break from the boards (and from TTC) for a couple of months after I had an ectopic and lost my right tube. DH and I are ready to start trying again and had our first visit with our RE last week.

She did a sonogram and saw that I was ovulating on my right side (the side with no tube), so I'm still not sure if my left ovary ovulates.

Anyway, she recommended that as soon as my new cycle starts, I call and schedule an HSG on my left tube. Also, she said I could go on Letrozole (oral) and then after monitoring the ovary/ovulation, follow up with Ovidrel (syringe injections) that same cycle. She gave me some info on Letrozole which is an ovulation inducing prescription and then the Ovidrel is an r-hCG. She said we could follow that up with an IUI, but the IUI was at our option.

Part of me wants to do the HSG and drug treatments all the first month (since the HSG could clear any blockages and if there is an ovulation issue on my left side, the drugs could help and it might be the perfect combination to get us pregnant next month maybe!) but the other part of me wants to hold off on the drugs and just do the HSG for now so that we can first determine if I'm ovulating normally on that side before I start the drug course of treatment.

Can any of you ladies offer advice? If you have experiences with Letrozole/Ovidrel please share them

ETA: they are also going to do my blookwork testing when my next cycle starts.

I've never had the Letrozole, but you may want to talk to Melijane about this. She lost one of her tubes and opted to go straight to IVF.
