Hairdresser - Holiday tipping (sorry!)

Do you tip your hairdresser extra around the holiday? And if so, do you just give a larger amount as the tip or do you give a separate "gift" - like put $$ in a card? And how much extra do you give?

(I don't get my hair done (cut & color) too often - probably 2-3 times a year, but I don't think it's ever really been around the holidays, so not sure what to do)

TIA

I double what my normal tip would be, which is usually 20%, rounded up if it's close to an even number.

I give her double and usually put it in a holiday card. Same with the lady who does my eyebrow wax too

If I happen to go around the holidays I might get her a target gift card or something. Or a bottle of wine.
But I usually don't end up there in the month of Dec just by how it works out.

So if your tip is $50 you give $100 -- seems high!

I do not. I only go about 3x a year and it costs me a fortune so the standard 20% is enough in my book.

I give a small gift sometimes a bottle of wine, box of chocolates or a gift card besides my normal tip.

Edit to say I go every 8-9 weeks. I see a colorist and a hairdresser.

I give double tip. I usually tip $25 so I tip $50.
