Haiti - where is everyone donating?
DH and I wanted to split up what we can give among a few groups. So far we've done:
American Red Cross
Wyclef's Yele
Doctors without Borders
Anyone know of children specific groups that were already active in Haiti? Figured they'd be better equipped to get up and running faster already knowing the area/people.

Partners in Health was started in Haiti, and apparently is the only standing medical facility in Haiti right now.

I tried donating at yele.org, but the site is currently down. There is probably too much traffic.

We are thinking of giving to a church in Southampton (where I live) that has built a school there.

Though this is not my church, I felt that since it was small organization I might know more of where my money was going. I don't agree with the evangelism aspect, but I do agree with the schooling and nutrition.
Not sure though.....

I would recommend doing online donations via redcross site. There are few different relief funds to choose from

Food for the Poor has been in Haiti for a while now- you can check them out at www.foodforthepoor.com
what I like about them is 97% of donations goes to the program.. there admin costs are very low.
They sent an email that their offices were destroyed in the earthquake as well- but I know they'll be doing everything they can to help people in need.

Plan USA Is a wonderful organization through whom I already sponsor 2 children, one of whom is in Haiti and I am really trying to find out if she's okay.  They have a special donation section specifically for the EQ in Haiti.
