Half year taxes

I am new on here but have a question - we just received our half year taxes (general and school) in the mail. It looks like a bill but says duplicate all over it and I'm 99% sure this comes out of our mortgage every month. Anyone else get this?? I live in Massapequa if that helps...

Re: Half year taxes

call your mortgage company. you may have to send them the bill and then they pay it that way.
they will tell you what to do.

Re: Half year taxes

you personally will always receive one from teh town. they send one to your mortgage company who pays, and one to you. sometimes you even get one that says "PAID" i did in lindenhurst, i am not sure if nassau gives you a "PAID" one.

you can call your mortgage company, but you shouldn't be alarmed...

Re: Half year taxes

Definetely call to verify. When we first closed on our house both our general and school taxes were supposed to be rolled into our mortgage payment. For some reason the mortgage company was only paying our general taxes, not our school taxes. Needless to say, the town "came a knocking" for their money and we had to come up with $$$.
