hard not to compare?

DD has been a great eater since day 1. DS didn't start eating by mouth until a few days after her because he had respiratory issues. DS has always been a slower eater with a weaker suck.

DD is gaining weight like crazy. DS is gaining but slower. It is so hard not to compare the 2 and I just worry about DS.

Anybody else have these issues? Did they eventually even out a bit?

I know every kid is different but I am BFing and I want to make sure DS is getting enough.

Not sure how close yours were in weight at birth but my DS was 3 lb. 10 oz and DD was only 2 lb. 3 oz. So he started off ahead of her. But he is currently 15 lb. 12 oz. and DD is 12 lb. 2 oz. Thats actually the closest they've been in awhile. DS also has 3 inches on her too! They both eat about every 3 hours but DS will take 7-8 oz and DD is usually 5-6.

Yes they're twins but they're also 2 different babies. I think its harder for us multiple moms bc we have 2 babies the same age at the same time so how could you not compare? My DD still has done some things (Smile, laugh) before her brother.

Im sure your ped would let you know if there was reason to be concerned but your babies sound perfectly normal.

I fee like I am always comparing them. Not as much now that they are older but when they were smaller I constantly did it. It is hard not to.

My DS was a terrible eater in the hospital, when we were home DD was terrible. Then DS started spitting up bad, DD was fine. DS stopped, DD started........and thats pretty much the way the past 15 months have gone. It seems like whenever I worry about 1 not being up to speed with the other they balance out.

It is very hard to not compare, but they are different babies and will do different things., Mine started out at 3lbs 10 ozs and 6 lkbs 10 ozs and there is still a big difference in their weights at 5 years old. Mine are identical so it was even harder to not compare since they have the same dna, but had different issues at birth.

And as far as eating, if they are meeting milestones and gaining each week they are getting what they need.

It is sooo hard not to compare! My twins are so different, and based on the milestone checklists at the pediatrician, one is advanced and one is delayed... so that makes it even worse for me.
