hard time eating baby food ????

So, My LO is having a hard time eating baby food--doesn't want to eat it and pushes it out no matter what we give to eat (fruit/veggies/oatmeal)

LO doesn't even open mouth when approached with the spoon!

has anyone experienced this with your LO?
I don't know what to do--it makes feeding miserable for the both of us!!
not sure if there is a swallowing problem or texture problem or taste problem! this has been ongoing for almost 2 months.
anyone have any tips? would/could you get feeding therapy for something like this (LO is 7 mo.)
I haven't spoken to the ped. yet--I will soon though bc it's driving me crazy!
thanks!

I'd definitely bring it up with your ped. At 7 months,my dc won't open her mouth for certain foods, but she will chow down on others. My 7 month old loves chicken! Have you tried mushing up any table foods?

Maybe she would do better with finger foods. You could try tiny pieces of steamed carrots or bits of banana or avocado that she can pick up and feed herself. It still takes time to get the hang of mashing and swallowing but it could be worth a try. I never tried it but you can sprinkle cheerio dust on the banana and other slippery things to make them easier to pick up.

Did you look into baby led weaning? Maybe that would work...

Or maybe putting some purée on your finger instead of spoon?

my dd is just about 9 months and still doesnt care for puress all that much. its very hard to get her to eat. she only started opening her mouth for the spoon at 7.5 months. she just loves her bottles. i try 3x a day now. sometimes shewill eat a whole jar or even 2, other times she will take a few spoonfuls and shes had enough. its frustrating. make sure you feed your dc when they are hungry and dont give them a bottle beforehand
