Hardwood floors in kitchen
We just had the floors redone. The house came with hardwood in the kitchen. I wouldn’t have chosen it. It’s now driving me nuts! I have 3 littles and a dog. The floor is going to be ruined under the kitchen table pretty fast if I don’t figure something out. It’s dark wood and a white kitchen. Any one have any ideas of what I can put under the table and chairs to save the floor a bit? I’m hesitant to put a throw rug there but that may be my only choice.

Hardwood floors in kitchen
Put a rug down! My parents have hardwood in their kitchen and have always had a rug. Sometimes they get an indoor/outdoor rug, sometimes a regular area rug. Even as kids, it never got ruined. Even with my kids over there pretty often, the rug is still in really good shape.

Re: Hardwood floors in kitchen
We have hardwood in the kitchen (also not my choice) and it's in relatively good condition. The previous owners had a dog and the wood at the bottom of the steps was in HORRIBLE condition and totally scratched up. I'd live with it and see if you need the rug under your table. That area does not get much traffic.

Re: Hardwood floors in kitchen
Try a Ruggable area rug- they come apart so you can actually machine wash the rug part. Good idea in a kitchen
