Harmony Test and NT Scan?
I'm having the Harmony Test and NT Scan this week. From what I've read, both of them basically test for the same thing but the Harmony Test confirms genetic abnormalities with more accuracy than NT. Is there any other differences other than the fact that you can also determine the sex with Harmony? I'm just trying to understand why I'd be having both done and not just Harmony. Wondering if I'm missing something (maybe NT is just standard)?
Thanks!

Harmony Test and NT Scan?
I did both. Not sure why - other than the fact that they we're both offered to me and covered by insurance. Harmony determined sex of baby and the NT included an ultrasound which is always a plus!

Good point---the "added plus" of each test is nice! I guess I would have thought insurance would cover Harmony only for 35+ and maybe NT scan for under 35, one or the other. Either way, I guess I get more reassurance from two tests than one!

Harmony Test and NT Scan?
Both are screeners for chromosomal abnormalities but Harmony is more accurate (less false positives and false negatives). During my NT, the tech explained that they still do the NT because it helps to also have the visual and they did an anatomy scan at that time too, which can identify other possible developmental issues.

My doctor explained this too. Plus, as accurate as harmony is, it's not 100% so the more information confirming either way! the better.
