Has anyone done a 5 day transfer at LI-IVF?
I will be doing a 3-day transfer tomorrow, and 5-day wasn't even mentioned. I don't know if my embies aren't growing well or what..but doesn't 5 day increase chances? And wouldn't they do a 5 day if the embies were faring well?

Many RE's prefer to do a 3 day transfer, even if they are growing well, following the theory that embryos grow better in utero.
I had two beautiful looking embies, both 8 celled, grade 1 - we could have waited but my RE recommended we do a 3 day transfer because the uterus is a more natural environment for growth.

Re: Has anyone done a 5 day transfer at LI-IVF?
Day 5 doesn't increase your chances of getting a BFP. Both my back to back IVF cycles resulted in a BFP on a 3 day transfer. I actually preferred to have a day 3 transfer and my 2nd IVF I actually requested it to be done then.
Like Beth said, some RE's prefer a 3 day as they believe the embie/s will thrive better in utero.

Re: Has anyone done a 5 day transfer at LI-IVF?
I had a decent amount of nice quality embryos and my RE also chose to do a 3 day transfer. He said they embryos grow better inside of you rather than in the dish. I felt the same way as you at first, but I trusted that my doctor knew what was best for me. I'm 8 weeks pregnant now, so 3 day transfers do work!

Go by this... My Re did the same thing 3 day with grade 1 8 cell embies.. I would NEVER wait the 5 days... I requested 3 day..

Re: Has anyone done a 5 day transfer at LI-IVF?
I did a single embryo 5dt at LI IVF. DH and I were only willing to transfer one and Dr. Brenner suggested a 5dt which was what we wanted. We are now 21 weeks PG! Best of luck!
