Has anyone had or been to a Build a Bear birthday party?
We're having a hard time deciding on what to do for our DD's 2nd bday and Build a Bear came to mind. We've never been to a party there, I was just looking online and the pricing seems weird to me. They can't give an exact price because you pay for "what your guests leave with". I would think they would designate a bday party section but this doesn't seem to be the case. I can see this getting out of hand, how can you regulate the cost? Any info is greatly appreciated!!

Re: Has anyone had or been to a Build a Bear birthday party?
Been to one a couple of years ago. Close friends did a real small party so it was only about 6 kids. It was busy in there, but it was also December. I can imagine its not as crazy other times. They showed us a choice of what animals we can pick. They gave the kids their animals and handed them the heart and whatever else you put in it. When they took one child to make theirs the other kids sat on the floor in the back and played some little games. It was fine for my boys bc they were 2.5 and a few months at the time. After we all went out to one of the restaurants in the mall. From what I saw I don't think it would be good for a big party bc there's downtime. For a few close friends it's perfect and cute. Now my oldest is 5 and still sleeps with the bunny he made at the party and still talks about it like it was yesterday so obviously it was the best party he's been to bc he lived the favor. lol. She also gave a choice of a shirt for their stuffed animals.

I just watched a video on YouTube and said the same thing! It definitely does not look like a good idea for a ton of kids, but I'm thinking it would be around 8 kids.

There were a lot of kids (probably too many to have a party there) The store was packed, you couldn't even hear the girl that was running the party and telling the kids what to do. My son was only 3 I think at the time and I was so nervous that he was going to run out the store the entire time into the mall. It just def wasn't enjoyable. Plus my son doesn't love waiting so that was part of the prob I am sure!

Re: Has anyone had or been to a Build a Bear birthday party?
Not a great party. Lots of sitting around and waiting. Then the kids were all grabbing at clothes asking for it. My DD was ok, but several parents left bc their kids were having fits. There was no real entertainment. Basically like 20 kids stuffed a bear. They wander the store. They brought out a few outfits and it was like first come first serve whoever raises their hand first got it. They only had single outfits so 2-3 wanted the same thing. Too bad. It was a 4 year old party. The kids really had no entertainment. They started the party 30 mins late even though everyone was there. They didn't explain well what was included, so kids were picking things they shouldn't have. It would have been better go just show up and buy all the kids a bear rather than plan a party.
