Has anyone had PGD testing done
I am very new to this and was just wondering if anyone had the genetic testing done before IVF I have a chromosome translocation and a 50% chance of m/c I have already had 2 m/c in the past 3 months and this would be another option that we are looking into.
Any stories your willing to share are greatly appreciated

Re: Has anyone had PGD testing done
I don't know much about it but I know there are at least 2 people on here who are planning on doing PGD. I'm sure one of them can give you some more information. Also if you do a search some old threads should come up from not that long ago. HTH! GL!!!

Re: Has anyone had PGD testing done
Maria (Babe49) and I both have balanced translocations.
I can tell you my experience, which wasn't so good, but I'll tell you anyway
I had two stim cycles of IVF and the first one I had 12 eggs, 7 embryos, they tested all 7 and I had 1 "good" embryo (w/o the translocation), but on day 5 it was only 6 celled. They transferred it anyway and I ended up having a chemical. The second IVF cycle I had 14 eggs, 7 embryos again and NONE of the eggs were good...all translocated. So since my insurance company wasn't paying for the PGD, I decided to forego PGD again.
But this obviously won't be the experience of everyone. Definitely do what you think is right for you Good luck!

oh wow I'm so sorry you had that experience thank you for sharing it with me though. I was actually wondering if it was possible to not have any good embryos. Thank you again good luck to you as well!
