Has anyone made a christening gown out of their wedding dress?
I would love to do this...if you did it, can you please share how it came out? (and if possible, how much it cost you?).
Thanks

Never been a bride but I would soo do it, such a sentimental idea. I would call a seamstress (is that how you spell it)

My Grandmother (she is 85 years young ) still has her gown and has "given" it to me when we have a baby (if we EVER get PG ) to use for a christening gown. I LOVE the idea. I just hope she really had it stored properly!

My mom is having one made for me for my shower from my Wedding dress, I think the cost is about $150.

Re: Has anyone made a christening gown out of their wedding dress?
I did this w/my gown for my daughter. My daughter was born at the end of July, her first fitting was in mid-August and her christening was the beginning of October, just to give you an idea of the timing.
I used Elena Do Vale at Designing Dreams in Mineola. They are at 216 East Jericho Trnpk. Phone - 516-248-1988 They were really wonderful to work with and I was very happy with the result. They certainly weren't going to stop short of me being thrilled and that was very evident in the way they treat you and work with you through the designing process. I highly recommend them. But be prepared - it is not super cheap.
HTH!

I had this done. Little J Mommy (above)'s mom did it for me. It was about $200., I brought her pictures of what I wanted & she made it for me in under 3 weeks. It came out beautiful.

Thank you all so much!!!!
The only problem is that I live in NC--though I do come back up to NY pretty frequently--I guess I will have to bring my dress with me next time I come.
