Has anyone taken Reglan while pregnant?
They say from my symptoms it sounds like my stomach isn't emptying at a normal rate so that is where the gagging nausea is coming in. My midwife said it works well for a lot of women but I declined as I'm not comfortable taking meds while pregnant but will keep it in the back of my mind if I don't get any relief in the 2nd trimester.

Re: Has anyone taken Reglan while pregnant?
I took Reglan when my insurance wouldn't cover my Zofran (loonnngg story). It made me VERY sleepy. I could only take it at night and I needed to take a Vitamin B pill with it too.
I was the same way with taking meds, but honestly, my doctor told me after I lost 13lbs in 13 weeks that it was Zofran or hospital. I chose Zofran. I also had to take it til the day I gave birth, it basically just let me eat a little each day. I never had relief
I hope you feel better soon

Re: Has anyone taken Reglan while pregnant?
Well I gained 5 pounds so far, granted I think that was the first 6 weeks. At one point at home I was up 8 and I have gone to only being up 3 pounds. Anyway I don't think they're concerned about that yet but I am so damn miserable every time I eat that I don't want to eat but the hunger makes me so nauseous as well. It's a no win situation. I'm waiting it out until about 16 weeks and I'll see where I'm at then. I could take Zofran but she seems to think from what I describe its my stomach not emptying. I told her that it feels like I had gastric bypass from how people describe that. My stomach feels like it can't hold food and it just sits in my esophagus and I just want to gag all day. The slightest cough makes me almost vomit. It's crazy.

Re: Has anyone taken Reglan while pregnant?
I only got sick in the morning, but felt very nauseous throughout the day. I took Reglan a few times at night when I was feeling really awful. It helped a little with the nausea and my heartburn/reflux wasn't as bad, but it made me pretty drowsy. I only took it once in the morning, but I still got sick. I haven't taken it since then. My nausea has been better, but if it's really bad again and I can't function, I'll probably take more Reglan. Feel better.

This is similar to how I feel. nausea mixed with heartburn. I have found I need to eat small meals. I bought the preggie pops and drops those help a bit. Saltines help. And I've been drinking TONS of lemon water which seems to help the most.
This is what I ate yesterday:
bagel toast soup pretzels half a bean cassoulet I split with my DH French fries lemon tart(i figured the lemon would help-it didn't)
yeah I'm carb loading. No wonder I can't poop!

I don't even have the heartburn. For me it's more like a gagging feeling. It's so hard to explain. I eat a mix of carbs and protein and eat very small portions. Last night I made the mistake of eating a full meal (mom's home cooked food) and I was up miserable all night. Even just eating a bagel feels like it's sitting in my throat. I'm just not into taking meds while pregnant but if this goes on into the 2nd trimester I might have to think about it. I had no issues with DD, I wasn't prepared for this at all.

Re: Has anyone taken Reglan while pregnant?
I could not tolerate Reglan. It has a high high rate of side effects and it made me a little nuts.
I had severe stomach issue while PG and Zofran tablets alone didnt help like you said the gaging. I would have that gagging all day long after every drink or food intake.
I eventually used a combo of IV Zofran and Bonine.
Talk to your Dr more about it. Do some onlien research.
This is a good website for hyperemesis help.....They are very knowledgable about the medications used.

I'm not vomiting so I feel like I shouldn't complain so much but OMG I literally want to crawl in bed for the next 6 months. I am on the verge on tears at this point. I get hungry so I have to try to eat but I don't want to and it's getting worse, MUCH worse, not better.

This was me-I know your pain. Try soups, liquid based foods are easier on the stomach when you have emptying issues.
