Has anyone tried probiotics to help with reflux/colic?
As an update to my earlier post, we went to the ped today and explained everything. Since My LO has gained weight, they weren't ready to prescribe any meds-which Im ok with... but something needs to change because feedings are torturous for us and the baby! So the ped suggested trying probiotics. Just wondering if anyone has tried this approach with any success

I have my DS on a probiotic. Its the Udi's baby probiotic they sell inthe refrigerated section at whole foods. Other people i have heard of using one called biogaia that you can get at Walgreens.
I think it has helped to reduce the reflux/ spit up a bit. There's no harm in it if it doesn't except the money you spent (its not cheap- the bottle lasts about a month and costs $25).
I've also found feeding him upright- even as a tiny infant- sitting him almost straight up and burping after evey ounce when he gets bottles ( I ebf but he gets bottles when I am at work and every few days from my DH when I was on leave). These probably helped the most. And keeping him upright after feedings- I would either hold him upright or put him in his bouncy seat which is more upright.

I've used Biogaia and its helped with gas a lot! Switching now to culturelle because biogaia ones are so $$$

Thanks! Im also using the biogaia. Its only been one day but already my LO seems to be in less pain during feedings.
Hoping it continues and that she throws up less too!

DD is on medication for reflux, and special formula for milk protein allergy, but is still a fussy eater and doesn't eat enough for her weight (although somehow she is gaining weight, Thank G-d.). Anyhow, we started her on Biogaia a couple of weeks ago, and I am seeing somewhat of a decrease in fussiness, and slight improvement in her eating.
