Has anyone used Sherwin Williams no VOC paint?

Our painter said he can use this if we request, which we would like to, but I'm wondering how it would hold up with little tiny hands touching it constantly AND a husband who constantly brushes things up against walls. Chat Icon

Please tell me it's good! I really want to go with this! Chat Icon

I haven't used it, but are the colorants also non-VOC? Government regulations allow companies to say their paint is "no-VOC" if the base white is no-VOC. Then, they can put as many VOC into the paint as they want with the color..... I'm not saying SW does that, but you should look into it.

I used MythicPaint http://www.mythicpaint.com/ , which is 100% no-VOC, but it's mail-order only (depending on where you live). However, it's holding up extremely well so far. The coverage is great, and the professional painter that I hired really liked working with it.

Just an overall comment that non-VOC paints CAN do a good job.... Chat Icon

I just asked DH and apparently only the base is no VOC, the colorant IS VOC.

Now what....is it even worth it? Chat Icon

Check out Freshaire paint at Home Depot

No VOC in the base or colorant. They don't have a lot of color choices, 65 colors, but I think they are pretty nice colors. And I believe Benjamin Moore has this kind of paint too, but I believe you have to special order it.

we've used ecospec the ben. moore no VOC paint and it has held up well! I would use it again. Also, their Aura paint is not no VOC but had low odor and covers like a dream!

Eco Spec is very low VOC base, but there are VOCs in the white base, then the colorants also have VOCs. (based on info from BM's website)

low VOC is still much better than full-VOC.... Chat Icon
