Have you rec'd clothing?

Lets talk clothes...

On average, have you been receiving clothes since announcing that you are pregnant? Like, as little gifts here and there? Or, did you receive a lot at your shower? Did people buy something small like a shirt, or a simple outfit, as part of what they bought from your registry?

I am six months PG and I have a Mets onesie that I bought when we found out we were having a boy. Then, I have one PJ set from SIL. That's it so far. My shower is in July. I have no problem buying clothes and I am not expecting people to buy them for me - it's just that so many of my friends and family had many, many items by this point, all were gifts and people keep saying "you will get SO many clothes" and I just haven't seen that so I'm wondering, at what point did this happen for them? Curious if I'm going to have to buy a lot of it myself, which is fine, I just want to be prepared for that.

Those who had their showers already, did you feel you were given a lot of clothes? Did your shower have a wishing well and is that where they came from or no?

I'm sure you'll get clothing at your shower but otherwise unless you have close friends and/or family planning to give you clothes, I'm not sure where else these clothes are coming from? Depends on who your friends and family are I guess, I got some clothes randomly from family but I bought a decent amount of things myself.

I got tons of clothes at my shower especially when people know what your having. I got even more after the baby was born. I still had to buy some newborn clothes, people seem to stick with 3-6 months.

I got a lot of clothes when ppl came over to see the baby, or as a congrats gift once born.

I have 3 onesies and an outfit that I bought myself. Most of our friends are waiting til we find out the sex!

I have received a few items. One little outfit and a few books, and some stuff off our registry.

I have gotten all my clothes from when I was a baby from my mom. I have no problems with people buying me clothes. The only thing is they grow out of them so fast! I accept all handme downs from ym friends and my SIL. Every bit helps but I am looking forward to going out and buying clothes for my LO's!!!!

I wouldn't buy anything until after the shower. Some people may feel superstitious about buying anything before the baby's born.....but I wouldn't worry about clothes until after you see what you receive at the shower (particularly since you know what you're having).

With DS I was very surprised we didn't get much clothing at the shower b/c I had heard the same thing about getting a lot of clothing. I think it was b/c we were team green and there aren't a lot of gender neutral options.

Most of the clothing we did receive we got after his birth. Definitely wait until after your shower to really go crazy buying stuff.

I haven't bought 1 article of clothing for LO yet. So far I've received a pants onesie (I know this isn't the name but I can't think of it right now ), a polo infant shirt, and some nike sneaker/socks. That's it.

I didn't really register for clothing either aside from white onesies.

However, we've already had DH's cousins (who have a 13 yr old son) already offer us a bin of basically new clothes to go through, some from major stores like the gap, that have never been used.

My shower in July too. I expect to get a lot of clothes at that point. However, because i'm due at the end of summer I don't think the LO will get to use much of it due to the season change. I have no problem buying things but I def. think you'll get a decent amount at the shower.

I'm 33 weeks and I have a couple of white onesies.

I have some toys and other things, but not much! I better get a move on!

I got a lot at my baby shower for my DD, which I knew was a DD. Only got a few outfits for this DC because its a suprise. Got tons of hand me downs for both boy and girl plus saved some of DD's clothes so I am set either way. I think you will get a lot at your shower.

I got a bunch at my shower, I bought some, got some hand me downs and every visitor has been bringing gifts of clothes since she's been born.

If you know what you are having you will get a ton at your shower and then more when the baby is born.

I was team green so didn't get a lot for my shower but once the baby was born I got MORE than enough in gifts.

I have tons and tons of clothes. I will never use it all. I have a 9 month old nephew I got hand me downs from, one of my husband's co workers gave me hand me downs, and between his work shower and mine, we are set for a very long time.

I got tons of clothes at my shower -- none of which I registered for with the exception of the basics -- and most gifts after he was born were clothes. People love buying baby clothes!

You will get clothes as the shower and when the baby is born people usually bring clothes.

Don't worry there is plenty of time to get your stash :)

I got SO much clothing at my shower from my friends and family. I bought some stuff myself (damn you zulily) but got PLENTY at my shower I wasn't too worried after that. I literally have so much clothes that he's set until probably about 9 months. I even got some outfits for when he's 2 years old. I have noticed that team green babies get more AFTER the baby is born but still get PLENTY of clothes. Don't worry too much about it, you'll be fine.

You will get A LOT at your shower. You will get more once your LO is born too. If you do buy stuff, don't get a lot!

I didn't get anything until my shower with my first (team green) and we knew my 2nd was a girl, so I guess everyone assumed we already had everything- so bo presents for me (I mean her ) until after she was born.

No presents this time either (team green)
