Have your Thanksgiving plans changed due to Sandy?
We were planning to go to LI for Thanksgiving but it doesn't look like my parents are getting power back any time soon.

Re: Have your Thanksgiving plans changed due to Sandy?
Ours haven't changed, but i'm sure if they don't get a hold of the gas shortage some plans may change. We were staying home and hosting thanksgiving anyways, not sure who can or can't make it. But I actually have a feeling that we will have more than usual at our table since we have an open door policy and would gladly serve anyone who doesn't have heat, power, electric, food, etc.
i think we still have some time to thanksgiving, for everything that can be restored. The big issue I see is those without a place to call home, and thankfully atleast in our community, we have all pulled together to help each other out.

After being stubborn and not coming down to our house in VA previously, my parents now want to come but have no gas!!!

Luckily no. Everyone is my family is okay and has power now, even those of us that were out for a few days. Thanksgiving should continue as normal for us. Lots to be thankful for this year.

Yep I'm skipping our annual orgy of football friends and family But for a good cause, I'm working on a Thanksgiving effort for Sandy victims; the part will go on, and I think DH and DS will go but right now it looks like I'll be working on this.

Yes, my aunt was supposed to host. Their basement flooded so they have no burner, oil tank or electric yet. My dad offered to host, but they are going to a friends house close to home since they are bellmore and we are eastern Suffolk. My other aunts and uncles were supposed to come from PA and FL also but I don't think they will now...
