Having a bit of a hard time (very long)
I feel very stressed lately and I don't know why. I am short with my mom and DH. I am ready to kill my dogs. And I get sad when Sydnie gives me a hard time. I don't let myself lose my patience with or around Sydnie but I feel so stressed.
Things with Dh aren't perfect so maybe it starts there but I don't know. I start to wonder if it's me.
The dogs make such a mess. My big old cranky dog just stands right on top of me ALL day and whines. He wants to go outside so I let him out and he eats poop. It's so gross. But all he does is b***h allllll day long. I cannot stand him. He also slobbers and shakes his head (American Bulldog) and gets drool up to the ceiling. This morning I spent an hour cleaning my walls. On top of that, half the time the baby just falls asleep and they start to bark at I don't know...a bird...and wake her up
As for Syd. I talked to DH about it last night and he even said that DD does not act the same way with him as she does with me. That she knows how to work me and she does so. That I am a pushover with her and she pushes. I kept saying she was whiny lately because of teething but at 10 months with no teeth I think that excuse is tired.
I don't want to raise a brat. She is wonderful but I am afraid I am starting to do things wrong. Meal times have gotten tough. If I don't do exactly what she wants she starts to whine. But she's constantly chewing her fingers or something so I think it's teeth.
I guess being a wife/mom all day, taking care of "things" all day, and then working at night, has me exhausted too.
If you got this far, thank you. I just don't know sometimes.

Annie, I just want to say that you are a GREAT mom! It is OK to be stressed at times. I think we all feel that sometimes. I know I do. And I know for sure that it is SOooo much harder when things are not "perfect" with DH. But I know you give 100% and you need to feel good about that. As far as Syd goes, it is probably just a cranky phase. They come and go and she will be fine. You will not raise a brat, she is a sweet little baby girl. If you need a break, call me!

I totally understand where you are coming from, I'm having one of those days myself. I have two labs that I am ready to disown some days also. You're doing a great job with Sydnie. I think all kids "work" their moms, you're the one who sees her the most and you also know what she needs. DS also has no teeth and I'm tired of blaming everything on teething. I told my mom he is miserable today and she immediately suggests teeth. I'll believe it when I see it I don't have any great words of wisdom, hopefully you'll be feeling better soon

Thank you so much for understanding. She fell asleep which is way earlier than her usual nap so maybe she was just tired and cranky this morning. Let's hope she wakes up her usual happy self

Re: Having a bit of a hard time (very long)
annie we all have our days like this. i get so mad at myself because there are some days when i am so grateful to be able to come to work to get away from DS for a while. i love being at home with him but at 10 months they can really try your patience!
i wish i had advice about the barking because my ILs dog and my parents dog do the same thing. i would put a white noise machine or a loud fan in her room when she sleeps, she probably won't hear them bark that way.

Annie, you are a great mom!!!!! It is not easy to figure out what 10 months old want, they can't tell you. Don't let it wear you down, you are doing such a great job, and have a beautiful daughter!!
I am sure the crankiness is just her being cranky. We still consider the crankiness coming from teething as well, but no teeth.
As for her acting differently between you and DH, I think all children do that. If you want to get her out of 'working' you, just stand strong. You can do it. After a while, she will learn what she should and should not be doing.
If you need to talk, I'm here!!

ITA with this. We did this, and now DS doesn't hear cars driving by, or birds chirping. He is THAT light of a sleeper. We have both a fan and a radio on static in his room when he sleeps.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time (very long)
Been there and felt that way too!! Some days are harder than others, but it's just a hard time (or a few days) and it shall pass. I totally remember feeling the same thing with DD that I was "spoiling" her, but it was short-lived, and she certainly doesn't act that way anymore. You are a good mom, you just have a lot on your plate and that's totally normal! That's why LIF is a great vent and a good sounding board

Re: Having a bit of a hard time (very long)
Hang in there! I feel the same way MANY days, with my 2 wonderful DS's, a very active and big dog and then the hubby as well. I try to just think how lucky and blessed I am, and, that in 5 years it will all be easier! Please, no one tell me that I am wrong, I've been saying this to myself for over a year now and it helps!
So if it helps, you are not alone. Thank god for this site.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time (very long)
I think you are describing my days sometimes.
I have 2 dogs. I have to watch one so he does not the other's poop. They puked. I scream at them to puke on the kitchen tile NOT the LR carpet. They are used to it by now. They go to kitchen tile when they see me running towards. them (yes, it's a pretty picture).
DS get whiny. He just got his 2 year molars on top. The bottom are not out yet. I just can't wait.
It's like I have 3 kids.
I decided to go for 1 hour walk everyday. I take the stroller and DS and hop we go. I need fresh air. The feeling that it's not an errand or something for the house.
