Having an issue with my dryer
My dryer is 3.5 yrs old. Starting yesterday, it won't start unless you spin the drum by hand to get it going and you can't do that unless you hold down the button that goes in after you shut the door. It's a pain in the butt. Why would this being happening?

Re: Having an issue with my dryer
The motor is probably going. You need to press the button manually, since it's a safety feature to "require" the door to be closed to start turning. If the door is open, you'll need to trick the dryer into thinking it's really closed.
Usually if a motor can run after a manual start, but can't start on its own, it's usually because the motor is starting to seize, or something is worn inside the motor.
A 3.5 yo dryer shouldn't have a worn motor, though....

Re: Having an issue with my dryer
Holy S I can't believe it, it's only 3.5 yrs old. We have the extended warranty, do you think that it will be covered? We had an issue with the washing machine last year where the drum just came off, they gave us a hard time but fixed it.

Re: Having an issue with my dryer
I would think the motor would be covered, since that's on of the primary component of a dryer. Definitely check with company about the warranty. Dryers should last close to 15 years, give or take.
