Re: healthy sleep habits, happy child

When I used to complain to my mom that one of my kids wasn't doing something the "book" said they should or could, she would laugh and tell me they didn't read the book and maybe I should put it in the crib with them.

All laughs aside, with two at once, you are my heroes and I wish you all the luck in the world. I know how much better off everyone is when children sleep.

I'm gonna brag if you don't mind Chat Icon

My children sleep 12-13 hours a night with usually not even a peep (took 4 months to get there but...). I think i would have gone insane by now if they didn't (between working FT, etc.) So for all those who have twins who don't I'LL Chat Icon that they do soon for you.

I got the book to insure that i was giving the boys the approrpriate naps during the day and it's been a wonderful reference!

That kills me about all of these sleep theory books. If kid was sleeping I'd have time to read a long book, that's why I'm looking for help! Chat Icon

This book was recommended by the author of "ready or not..." so that's why I thought it would be particularly helpful!

I personally don't think it's a book you have to read cover to cover. I think you take what you can out of the basics and then read the sections appropriate to your child's age. Don't be too intimidated by the length

BTW, Diane, the author is Marc Weissbluth, MD, if you're looking on Amazon.Chat Icon

Brag away! Chat Icon

I wish mine were that way!!! We went thru a very long 14 months before we finally put our foot down and said enough was enough! They are 16 months and still don't sleep as long as Ali's but they go down around 8:30-9:00 and wake around 6:30 -

We'll take it!
