Height/Age requirements for REGULAR booster seat?
You know, the little one without the back?
DD will be 4 in November and I am due with #3 in March. We are planning on getting a mini-van for me ( ) but we will be stuck with DH's matrix as our other car. I'm worried about how three carseats will fit across the back seat. We HAVE had 3 seats in it one day when I took my nephew out with us, but I honestly cant say it was very safe. The seats were all anchored tight, but the one on one end was slighly tilted.
I would rather keep DD in a convertible carseat as long as possible, but I think it might be safer to use a smaller seat in DH's car so none of them tilt.
Anyone know the laws on this?
TIA

I am not sure if there is an actual law about this, but my DS is 6 and still in a booster with a back.

Re: Height/Age requirements for REGULAR booster seat?
Most all I read was 4yrs and 40lbs as the minimum. I moved my son at 4ish (but bought a booster with lap belt and high back although I read the Graco without the back is slightly safer.

Re: Height/Age requirements for REGULAR booster seat?
My son is 5 and is in the Graco Turbobooster Safeseat high-back booster seat.
In our second car, which he is rarely in, we have a backless booster... And honestly, my son is on the tall side (~47") and I don't like the way the seatbelt lays across him. When he is in the booster with the back, the seatbelt is guided through a slot and fits him better.

I definately think at age 4 he should still be in a booster with a back. JMO

Re: Height/Age requirements for REGULAR booster seat?
4 years and 40 lbs is the minimum. DS was in his 5 point car seat until his 6th b-day. DD will do the same.
In my truck, we have a booster with a back, only because there's no headrest. As far as I can tell, the only difference between a booster with a back and without is the head support. If you have headrests, you shouldn't need a full back booster.
