Help - Cough medicine for a 2yr old?? WWYD

Quick question...

My 2 year old has a bad cough. I called the Ped, and she said to give him a 1/2 dose of Delsym. My hubby went out and bought it and it says DO NOT give to children under 4. So I called the pharmacist and she said its okay to give to him as long as its 1/2 dose.

So my question is, WWYD?

For those of you who have children under 4, what do you give them for coughs. I usually let it run its course, but it kept him up last night. So i think he needs something to help suppress it.

Any suggestions

I give Little Colds Honey Elixer to my DS. Its honey and not medication but it always seemed to help him with his cough. I also put the humidifier on. Good luck!
