Help- easy recipe for dinner party

I am a decent cook for my family, but not much experience with dinner parties.

Hosting book club, 10-12 women. Any fool proof recipes, thinking comfort food, possibly Mexican.

are you near a fairway? they have a mexican choice for their catering. its about 30$ and it fees A LOT of people. u can have chicken fajitas . they give u a tray of that with tortillas, cheese, a huge bowl of guac. its a good deal and best of all, you dont have to cook!

For Mexican food, I like to buy an already made Rotisserie chicken (or shrimp) and make quesadillas. You can make them ahead of time and just heat them in the oven. Get all the fixings (make your own guacamole) and some boxed rice. I would also make tacos, doing the beef is quick and easy.

A taco bar would be really simple and it's always a big hit. All you need to do is cook and season the beef. Then I would put out bowls of:

Shredded lettuce
Olives
Sour Cream
Diced tomatoes
Shredded Cheese
Taco Sauce

You could also make yellow rice as a side. And put out tortilla chips with salsa and guacamole to snack on. Wholly Guacamole is really tasty if you don't feel like making your own.
