I agree with alot of the suggestions above. My DD started this phase around 12 months and included NO, tantrums and lots of biting. What worked best for us was 30sec-1min time outs in a quiet area of the room basically to take her out of the situation. In hindsight I am very glad we started time outs that early becuase now at 2 time outs work perfectly for us.
