looking at plan #1, you have to go through the closet to get to the 1/2 bath but the full bath is on the other side of that wall? shouldn't that be switched around so that you have a full bathroom (being that it's your master bedroom/bathroom) and the 1/2 bath should be where the full bath is?
does that make sense? '
You cant have the 1/2 bath in the hall cause what would guests do.....walk into your bedroom to shower?
Also layout one might be cheaper cause all the plumbing is in the same location. I know someone suggested moving one of the bathrooms to the other side but from a construction cost if the plumbing is all in one central location it is cheaper.

Re: Help me pick a house plan!
I like #2. But I dont like the double doors opening into the living area. I dont see the need for 3 doors for that bedroom/office.
#1 isnt bad, but I dont like all the doors opening into your master bedroom.
I can see how frustrated you must be. I think a combo of the 2 would be nice.
If these were my options and could combine the two. I would keep the 2 bedrooms on the right in and take a smaller master (all from #1) have the half bath conected to the master and on that same wall next to it the closet. Then the full bath behind that and hopefully get in a linen closet in that bathroom

To OP, is putting 2 full baths not an option?
if you're putting money to do it all up, I would invest the money to put another full bath for guests to use.
While I understand that you wouldn't want guest to walk through your room to use the shower, i don't see why you should have to walk out of your bedroom and around either.
GL!
ETA: If what I suggest isn't an option, then perhaps you can put a pocket door in your 1/2 bath so you can open it and access the full bath?

But if she does othat and puts te full bath in her master her children will need to go into her room to shower ect to get ready for school or what not. that could be annoying esp as they get older
I agree though, i would look into maybe 2 full baths, even if it is shower only.

I would actually pick 2. You can use the spare room for extra closet space.

Re: Help me pick a house plan!
I vote option 2 if these are you only choices. It has a pantry inside the kitchen. And a linen closet inside the bathroom. SO if you can't forget the towel. i would eliminate the doors of the office going into the living room. With option 1, technically it is not a walk in closet. It is 2 closets with a hallway between them. You really won't gain much space in the closet and will make the 1/2 bath that much darker since you won't get the light from the bedroom.

Re: Help me pick a house plan!
thanks for all the great suggestions! Ihave a list of things to ask the architect now - I am definitely going to see if we can squeeze a shower into the second bathroom!

Re: Help me pick a house plan!
oohhh I love #1. I love the walk in closets and the fact that your bedroom is on one side and the other 2 are on the opposite side right next to each other. It looks like it flows more and walk in closet would hands down make me go for #1. Good luck with whatever you pick!

Thanks and thanks!
Maybe I can do that roll out pantry like Rachel Ray has in her kitchen? LOL
Check the pics of MrsFlatbread's kitchen. She did some larger "pantry type" cabinets around her fridge... I would try to do something like that vs the built in pantry!

Re: Help me pick a house plan!
I pick #2 but there are a couple of changes I'd make
1-the office/BR-I would Eliminate the double doors to the living area, with them furniture placement in the living/dining room will be very hard, I'd rather have a single door off to one side or the other of that wall 2-close the door to the hall and use some of that area in the office to expand your master bath with a shower & linen closet, if there's room left & a way to do it add a small closet to the office/bedroom to make it a true bedroom if needed. Even by making that change that room with still be approx the same sq ft as the baby's room. And you can never have enough closets. 2 full baths & 3 true bedrooms add value, even if they're small. 3-there is a window drawn along the wall where the living meets the office-is that moving into the office?
Good luck! Its going to look great!

Re: Help me pick a house plan!
I had an apartment in DC where from the bedroom you could walk through the closet to get to the bathroom. You could also enter the bathroom via the front hall way. It was convenient but if I inadvertently left the door between the bathroom and the closet open then I felt like I had a musty smell in the closet.
