Help me plan menu for house guests!
Df is visiting for a few days next week with her 4 dc. So including mine we will have 8 kids, ages 2-9, plus she and I. (No dh's). Please help me plan breakfast, lunch and dinner for 2, possibly 3 days. Thanks!

Re: Help me plan menu for house guests!
Wow, 8 kids?!? Good luck
Actually that sounds like a lot of fun but obviously I would keep everything very kid friendly.
Breakfast: I would have oatmeal or cereal and yogurt on hand for the picky eaters but I would probably suggest making scrambled eggs and toast. That is what I would make. Are they from around here? If not, they might love/find it a treat to have fresh bagels and cream cheese.
For lunches and dinner: One would def. be pizza! Sandwiches, depending on what they like (grilled cheese, cold cuts, BLT, hummus, PB&J, etc.) Maybe Macaroni and Cheese and Chicken Nuggets Italian food is usually a hit, like baked ziti and a salad. Do you grill? Maybe hamburgers and hot dogs?
I would also have a lot of snacks around: cheese sticks, fresh fruit (any and all fruit), fresh vegetables, pretzels.

Re: Help me plan menu for house guests!
I agree with PP keep oatmeal, cereal, English muffins on hand for breakfast. You could pick up fresh bagels and have cream cheese, butter and jelly on hand too. Fresh fruit is good to keep on hand for any of the meals or as a snack. Pancakes,French toast, or eggs is easy and filling too.
Lunch-cold cuts, pizza, Mac and cheese, grilled or baked chicken fingers, hot dogs, hamburgers.
Dinner- in advance you could freeze some pre-made meals and then heat in the oven like ST lasagna roll ups or marinated London broil and then just toss on the grill. Have stuff to make a salad. Mashed potatoes or rice or French fries are good side dishes. Pasta with sauce and meatballs is easy and the sauce and meatballs can be made ahead of time. I also like to keep ravioli or tortellini in the freezer and kids love that.
