Help! my DS has a really bad rash under his neck..

he is 2 months old.. and the rash is in his folds of his neck.

what should i put on it. ?
did this happen to anyone else's child?

i think it happens to ALL of them in the summer....

be dilligent about wiping the 'fat rolls' in the neck with every diaper change (or even more often).

i'd wipe it with a wipe or damp face-cloth and put some lotion on it. we always used calendula cream on that stuff and it went away quickly.

Mine had this as well.

Is the skin raw or just red?

if it's just red, I'd put aquafor on it.. if it's raw, i'd put baby powder (corn starch) on it with your hands.

Dr told me to use a little hydrocortosine cream..I would check with ped though

its starting to get raw.

i am trying to let it air out by laying him differently.

i will try the powder first.

I used neosporin and it worked like a charm!

Emmy had this for some time and peaked at 2months. It's subarreha? Anyway we wash her with Nizoral, a dandruff shampoo from Kroger, but you can get it anywhere, and I put baby powder in her neck after every bath. Works like a charm. I buy the J&J medicated baby powder and noticed it worked better. I got it at Kroger as well, but diapers.com sells it also HTH. Now it's 100% cleared up

hey de - is he drooling a lot?

loey had that from his chubs + drool!

i would wipe it with a warm washcloth and then put the cornstarch baby powder on it and it went away really quickly!

My DD had a raw rash in her neck roll. We used Bacetracian (not sure if I spelt it right) It cleared up in a few days now we put powder to avoid it from happening again.

DS has this all the time. The ped said to put .5% hydrocortisone cream.

Aquaphor definitely. Just have the ped check it when you see them next. DS had it from very bad drooling and sweating. The ped prescribed a cream for him.

Cailen had this so bad it turned into a fungus- he was a leaky faucet - he was prescribed a cream called Nystatin and it got rid of it immediately!

I think most babys get this to a point. Xavier has a red crease but it's not a rash.

after you get rid of it (everyone had good advice)...my ped recommended putting vaseline or aquafor to prevent it (but i guess powder works too)

i think this happens alot when formula/spit up gets stuck in there. gross..but its common.

maybe some aquaphor?

i have hydrocortizone cream that seems like its helping!
if it doesnt look better through the weekend i am going to call the peds..

we clean and pat it dry and then use vaseline...works good
