Help! Noisy Infant Breathing while sleeping
DS breathes very noisily, especially while sleeping. I try sucking his boogers out but simetimes it seems like he doesn't have any. I have a humidifier going in his room and have tried bm and saliene. Should I be concerned? I asked at his WBV and the ped said its normal. But last night it was really loud. I have barely slept I checked on him so many times. He sleeps right through it and seems to be getting air in and out of each nostril, may be a little less on the right. Its not in his chest just his nose. But its freaking me out!

Try not to worry this sounds just like my DS and many others have posted about it; if your ped isn't concerned then I think it's completely fine! It takes a few months for them to "dry out" after swimming around for 9 months. The humidifier and aspirator will help but it will definitely get better with time!

Re: Help! Noisy Infant Breathing while sleeping
My DS was always a loud sleeper. So much that everyone who was anywhere near him when he was sleeping would always comment on how loud he was.
He is going to be 3 next month and to be honest, he just recently started sleeping much more quietly. If your DS isn't sick and the ped isn't concerned, I'm sure he's fine.
It was so funny because for us, we were so used to his snoring on the baby monitor that when DD came along and she slept quiet as a mouse, I was always afraid that she wasn't OK because I couldn't hear her!

Thanks! That makes me feel better. Amanda, I guess I have the opposite problem, my DD was super quiet so DS loud breathing freaks me out. May be its a boy thing?

Amanda...we're having the same type of issue. DS could be a very noisy sleeper too. I asked the Dr about and he said the same thing your Dr did......not to worry about it b/c its normal
